The Hankook AH51 Smartflex commercial tire is recommended for use on the steering axle of long-haul tractors and large-capacity trucks. It demonstrates the greatest efficiency when used on regional routes, in medium-distance transportation. It is characterized by reduced rolling resistance, resistance to abrasive wear, improved traction on wet surfaces, and comfortable handling at high speeds.
The tread pattern is a combination of four wide longitudinal ribs. This design minimizes rolling resistance while maintaining high stability at high speeds and providing precise handling. An important feature is the presence of a large number of transverse lamellas. They significantly increase the braking intensity on wet surfaces. It is worth noting the special technology of manufacturing the tread, in which, as it wears out, new lamellas appear, not only forming sharpened traction edges but also water drainage channels, which also increases the efficiency of the tire in rainy conditions even at significant mileage. The tire was one of the first models of the brand to implement the controlled wear technology. Its essence lies in the use of special step-shaped blocks located in the longitudinal grooves. These elements prevent stones from getting stuck in the tread, which increases its service life. The next significant difference was the optimized profile shape of the tire, which ensures uniform stiffness distribution across the tread. This noticeably increases the tire's mileage, preventing cracks from forming under significant weight loads.
