Description Hankook AH11s
The Hankook AH11s truck tire was specifically designed by South Korean tire manufacturers for medium-duty trucks used for cargo transportation over short and medium distances. The size range of this model includes several dozen tire sizes for wheels with a mounting diameter of 16 inches. At the same time, the tire is suitable for operation on both the steering and driving axles.
Non-directional tread pattern
When developing this model, the specialists of the South Korean company, apparently, sought to provide maximum traction on asphalt concrete pavements. That's why its tread has such a specific appearance. It consists of five longitudinal ribs, three of which form the central part of the tread, and two are its shoulder zones. Thanks to the massive size of the tread elements, this model has a fairly large contact patch, which is why the tire demonstrates excellent traction on dry roads.
Increased resistance to uneven wear
Among the many strengths of this model, it is impossible not to note the increased resistance to uneven wear. This feature is a direct consequence of several technical solutions. In particular, the South Korean specialists managed to achieve a very even distribution of the external weight over the entire contact area. To do this, the shoulder zones were significantly strengthened, the three longitudinal ribs were given equal sizes, and additional elements were introduced into the tire Hankook AH11s carcass design, which increased its resistance to dynamic deformations.
Excellent traction properties
One of the characteristic features of the symmetric non-directional tread pattern of this model is the complete absence of separate blocks. This was done in order to minimize rolling resistance, which made it possible to improve fuel efficiency. Their absence was compensated by a solution borrowed from winter tires. Instead of blocks, the tread pattern of this tire contains many straight and S-shaped lamellas. During movement, they form an infinite number of edges that become traction edges when in contact with the road surface. At the same time, due to their multidirectional arrangement, the traction properties become even more reliable.
Main features of the Hankook AH11s tire
- the tire is perfectly adapted for transportation over short and long distances;
- the 5-rib symmetrical tread pattern has high directional stability and a large contact patch area;
- low rolling resistance due to the refusal of separate tread blocks;
- reinforced shoulder zones provide a more even distribution of external weight over the contact patch, which, in combination with a very durable and wear-resistant rubber compound, ensures a very long service life;
- excellent traction characteristics, thanks to the multitude of lamellas that form a huge number of traction edges.
