The non-studded GT Radial Champiro WinterPro 2 tire is one of the innovations of the Asian manufacturer. Like its predecessor, it is adapted to the road conditions of North European countries, differing from it with improved traction properties on wet and snowy surfaces, as well as a longer service life.
Universality of application
One of the characteristic features of the tire is its ability to maintain all its operational properties, including ride comfort, over a wide temperature range, up to 9 degrees Celsius. This is largely due to the characteristics of the rubber compound. It contains high-dispersion silica, which, in addition to elasticity under low-temperature exposure, provides the tread with better heat dissipation. Additionally, the compound contains special polymers that increase the strength of intermolecular bonds, allowing the tread to maintain its integrity even under significant mechanical and thermal stress.
Increased lamella density
The tire's tread is literally covered with small wavy cuts. The lamellae, located a few millimeters apart, form thousands of sharp and high edges. It is these edges that the tire grips onto icy or wet surfaces, providing reliable traction without the need for numerous studs. This property is further enhanced by a large number of special "micro-pumps". The droplet-shaped cuts capture and hold water, thereby drying the contact patch with the road.
V-shaped tread
Compared to its predecessor, the tire's tread has remained virtually unchanged. The key feature of the tread is the numerous intersecting transverse drainage grooves. They are arranged at an angle and have a curved, expanding shape towards the shoulder areas. This solution provides the tire with excellent resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning.
