The Goodyear Wrangler UltraGrip winter non-studded passenger tire was specifically designed for the harsh winter conditions of Northern European countries, including Russia. This model, available in 20 sizes with fitments from 15 to 19 inches, is intended for SUV category vehicles - off-road vehicles and crossovers equipped with four-wheel drive.
This tire features a tread with an S-shaped design of a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, which is quite original in design. First of all, it is worth noting the five-rib structure of the tread, which provided the tire with excellent course stability and fuel efficiency.
One of the distinctive features of the tread pattern is the structure of its central part. Each of the three longitudinal ribs located here represents a separate row of quadrangular blocks, spaced at a minimum distance from each other and having a wavy profile. At the same time, the blocks of the Goodyear Wrangler UltraGrip tire are located at a significant angle relative to the direction of movement, and are also equipped with several S-shaped lamellas. This design allows the contact patch to have an enormous number of sharp edges, which led to a significant increase in traction and coupling characteristics on snowy and icy roads.
It is also impossible not to note the original design of the shoulder zones of the tread, which are also, in fact, two rows of separate blocks. One of the key features of this part of the tread is the stepped profile of the blocks, which contributes to more effective removal of snow and dirt from the contact patch, which expanded the capabilities of the tire in overcoming complex sections.
