The Goodyear Ultragrip 9+ winter tire is suitable for most popular passenger cars. In terms of design, it is an evolution of the 8th generation model, which has proven itself to be one of the best. This tire stands out from its predecessor with its improved stability and handling on snowy and icy roads.

Two tread pattern options

The tread of this tire has two design options - with a longitudinal drainage groove in the center or without it. In the first case, in addition to this element, the central part of the tread contains a large number of small blocks, which improves traction on both wet and snowy roads.

V-Tread technology

Both tread pattern options are based on the V-Tread technology developed by the American brand in the early 1980s. In this version, it is characterized by a significant length and curved shape of the transverse edges formed by the blocks. This solution provides the tire with a distinctive feature of the brand's products, namely exceptional traction on snow. On wet roads, stable traction is ensured by the drainage grooves located between the blocks. Their width has been increased, which, together with their angle and direction against the direction of travel, provides intense removal of water and its mixture with snow and road dirt from the contact patch.

3D-BIS lamellas

Another "vintage" development used in this model is the 3D-BIS three-dimensional lamella technology. The vertical walls of the slits contain special grooves. When in contact with the road surface, they hook onto each other, fixing the slits in an open position, providing reliable traction on compacted snow and ice. At the same time, the mobility of the blocks is limited, which makes the handling more predictable and stable.
