This technology (FuelMax) for creating a rubber compound makes it possible to achieve maximum tire performance indicators. As a result, the new rubber compound has maximum wear resistance, which made it possible to achieve an increased service life of the Goodyear Marathon LHS II+ tire. The new components also increased the elasticity of the rubber during sharp temperature changes, which had a positive effect on the traction characteristics in any weather conditions, as well as contributed to the acceleration of the recovery properties of the tread.
Interlaced Strip technology
The use of Interlaced Strip technology made it possible to strengthen the outer surface of the tire using a special tape system. The reinforcement using the tape system is carried out using a steel cord along the outer part of the tread, which made it possible to increase the load on the tread by 7 percent. During production, this tape is wound in a spiral, where the layers intersect with each turn, which made it possible to increase the carrying capacity.
The combination of the new rubber compound and the use of a steel cord significantly reduced rolling resistance. Due to this, fuel consumption during movement decreased, and the comfort of the ride increased.
