Description Goodyear Fuel Max S
The Goodyear Fuel Max S summer tire is designed for the steering axle of long-haul trucks. Like other models in this line, it is characterized by high fuel efficiency, 6% better than the previous generation tire.
Fuel-saving lamellas
This model uses the IntelliMax Groove technology. The tread contains many narrow lamellas cut along the edges of the longitudinal ribs. These elements, when contacting the road surface, deform the tread ribs in a certain way, which reduces rolling resistance. This effect increases as the tire wears out.
Wear resistance
The rubber compound used in this tire has a high silica content. This component, by increasing the strength of the tread on tear and tension, significantly improves resistance to abrasive wear. This feature allowed the developers to reduce the tread height, which, in turn, further reduced rolling resistance.
Balance of operational properties
The tire is distinguished by a balance of operational properties. This is largely ensured by the optimized arrangement and shape of the lamellas and drainage grooves. Almost all of these elements are inclined relative to the direction of movement. This allows them to provide the tire with reliable traction without compromising other characteristics, primarily ride comfort and fuel efficiency.
Improved traction on wet pavement
The tread pattern is distinguished by a high content of narrow slits and drainage grooves. They significantly improve traction properties on wet pavement. The lamellas in the central part have an S-shaped form. It provides the longitudinal ribs with additional stability to lateral accelerations. This noticeably increases the speed and accuracy of handling.
