Excellent traction both straight and in turns
Like many other Goodyear models, this tire features a V-Tred tread. For this tire, it has been significantly redesigned, losing the central longitudinal rib in the process. Its design, which retains the "signature" V-shape, features four rows of blocks arranged at different angles and converging precisely at the center of the tread. They are distinguished by a complex polygonal shape with curved faces, which, in combination with the design features mentioned above, improves several operational properties. A tire with such a tread pattern demonstrates excellent stability on straight roads and reliable traction in turns, as well as a shortened braking distance. All these characteristics remain the same even on snow, thanks to the large distance between the blocks.
Short braking distance on ice
As you know, the greatest load during braking falls on the shoulder areas of the tread. It is here that the blocks are arranged at the smallest angle relative to the direction of movement, actually transversely. The engagement edges formed by them allow the tire to slow down efficiently, and thanks to the numerous lamellas also arranged transversely, it does so even on icy roads.
