Description Goodyear Eagle Sport 2 195/60 R15 88V

Like its predecessor, the Goodyear Eagle Sport 2 summer tire is focused on the segment of passenger cars of the middle and upper classes. A number of changes in design and materials made it possible to improve handling and traction on dry and wet surfaces, as well as increase fuel efficiency indicators.

A significant part of the changes affected the design of the carcass and the shape of the tread profile. This made it possible to significantly increase the contact patch and reduce its deformation under the influence of multidirectional acceleration forces. As a result, traction and handling were improved, and wear was reduced. The tread pattern is distinguished by the presence of even wider drainage grooves, which makes the likelihood of aquaplaning lower. In turn, the numerous edges of blocks and lamellas allow for intense acceleration and braking on wet surfaces.

The main features of Goodyear Eagle Sport 2:

- optimized carcass and tread profile increased the contact patch, improving handling and wear resistance;
- wide drainage grooves effectively combat aquaplaning at high speeds;
- high intensity of acceleration and braking on wet surfaces due to the multiplicity and multidirectionality of the edges of blocks and lamellas.

Goodyear Eagle Sport 2 — comfortable summer tire for city driving and moderate track use

The model is particularly appealing to drivers who value quietness and a smooth ride in everyday city driving. The main advantage is comfort and confident grip on wet roads, but the soft sidewall requires extra caution on sections with poor road surfaces.

Who is it suitable for: This tyre performs well in city driving at moderate speeds up to 100–120 km/h, where its soft construction provides noticeable comfort on road irregularities and asphalt joints. Buyers often note quiet operation at urban speeds and reliable performance in the rain — wide drainage grooves effectively channel water away. For family cars with high-profile tyres such as R15-R16, it's a sensible choice: the balance between brand price and operational qualities appears adequate. The tread profile is designed with an increased contact patch, improving stability and reducing wear during smooth driving. Owners confirm good straight-line stability within the specified speed range. If you're looking for a comfortable, no-frills daily tyre without sporty ambitions, this purchase appears justified. When buying, check the production date, as tyres manufactured in 2021–2022 are still being offered.

Who should consider an alternative: Consider choosing a different class if you regularly drive on highways at speeds above 130 km/h — at high speeds, sensitivity to side wind and wandering occur. In regions with very poor roads, a soft sidewall may become a weak point — there have been cases of bulges and impacts when hitting deep potholes. Aggressive sporty driving is not this model’s profile, as the soft construction does not provide rigid responsiveness. Drivers who expect the most recent production date should clarify this parameter with the seller in advance. For extreme loads and constant high-speed driving, it is more reasonable to look towards models with reinforced sidewalls.

Main reason for choice: The main reason for choosing this tire is a comfortable, soft ride combined with a trusted brand and a reasonable price for the segment. You get quiet cabin performance, confident braking on wet asphalt, and longevity supported by reviews praising wear resistance. The trade-off is clear: softness provides comfort but requires caution on rough road surfaces and isn't designed for consistently high speeds. For city and suburban driving at moderate pace, it's a practical choice. Keep expectations realistic—this isn't a performance tire, but a comfortable everyday option. Final advice: if your driving scenario matches city and highway use up to 120 km/h, the purchase looks sensible.
