One of such solutions is the OneTred shoulder zone technology. It is an addition to the long-known V-Tred tread pattern technology. Its essence lies in the presence of a large number of double tread blocks in the shoulder zones of the tread, which are a continuation of their "colleagues" located in the central part of the tread.
Their double design allowed improving several important operational properties at once. Most of them, to one degree or another, are a direct consequence of increasing the size of the contact patch and giving it a practically square shape. This led to an improvement in stability and reliability of grip in turns, as well as when braking. In addition, the double design of the blocks provides increased resistance to aquaplaning.
Multifunctional Central Part Design
In turn, the design of the center of the tread of this tire is characterized by multifunctionality. It is provided due to the presence of rigid bridges between the diagonal blocks. On the one hand, this gives the tire stability during straight-line movement and handling, and on the other hand, it prevents the occurrence of the aquaplaning effect.
