The GT Radial GT269 cargo tire was specifically designed for use on the steering axle of long-haul trucks. Reinforced design of shoulder areas
A distinctive feature of this model is the reinforced design of the shoulder areas of the tread pattern. Each of them is a solid structural element that, due to the absence of breaks and massive sizes, has very high resistance to dynamic deformation. At the same time, one cannot but note the flat profile of this part of the tread. The combination of such design features made it possible to significantly increase the size of the contact patch, which, in turn, has a practically rectangular shape. This significantly improved the even distribution of external pressure over the support surface, thereby ensuring higher load capacity and excellent resistance to uneven wear.
Six longitudinal ribs
In addition to the two shoulder areas, the tread pattern of this model contains four more longitudinal ribs located in its central part. Like the shoulder areas, these tread elements have high resistance to dynamic deformation. Due to this, the tire demonstrates very stable and reliable behavior at high speeds, as well as accuracy and quickness of reaction to the driver's actions. Also, one cannot but note the absence of any breaks along the entire length of all six longitudinal ribs, which made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance.
