Despite being on sale for many years and the presence of a next-generation model, the Gislaved Speed C commercial tire continues to be in high demand among owners of vans and light trucks. The reason for this lies in the fact that this tire was developed taking into account the characteristics of operation and technical features of this class of commercial vehicles. This made it possible to obtain a tire product that, on the one hand, has good traction and stability at high speeds, and on the other hand, has reliability, durability, fuel efficiency, and a high level of comfort while driving.
Increased load capacity
Among the other technical characteristics of this model, it is worth noting the increased load capacity indicators. These were achieved through a number of solutions. One of them is the design of the carcass, which is significantly strengthened due to the use of a double steel cord, as well as a similarly designed breaker located directly under the tread. The presence of a very rigid and durable "base" made it possible to significantly increase the tire's carrying capacity. As an additional measure to ensure maximum load capacity, a tread design with equal longitudinal ribs was used. This significantly optimizes the distribution of external pressure over the contact patch, which also increases the tire's carrying capacity, and at the same time prevents uneven wear during operation under significant load.
Good traction on slippery roads
Despite the fact that this tire was positioned by the Swedish manufacturer as a summer model, its tread has a significant number of traction edges. These are formed by tread blocks and numerous lamellas cut into them. There are more than enough of them to give the tire confident behavior on wet roads. In this regard, it is worth noting the presence of three very wide and deep longitudinal drainage grooves in the center of the tread. With their help, the threshold for the occurrence of the aquaplaning effect has been "pushed" towards truly high speeds.
Main features of the Gislaved Speed C tire
- increased load capacity indicators due to the strengthened carcass design and tread pattern design with varying longitudinal ribs;
- good traction on wet roads is provided by the tread with a large number of traction edges formed by blocks and lamellas cut into them.
