Despite its relatively long presence on the market, the Fulda Carat Progresso summer tire still has quite up-to-date performance characteristics. This model is designed for small and medium-sized passenger cars. Its excellent applicability is ensured by a wide range of sizes, with several dozen sizes with diameters from 14 to 16 inches. At the same time, some sizes have a very high speed index W.
When developing this tire, the company's specialists paid special attention to handling and braking efficiency on wet surfaces. That's why the tire is equipped with a classic V-shaped symmetrical tread pattern and a completely new rubber compound at the time.
The tread pattern is distinguished by a very developed drainage system, consisting of many radial channels and two longitudinal grooves. At the same time, the radial channels drain water in the opposite direction to the axis of movement, which, in combination with their curved shape, prevents the formation of vortices, significantly increasing the water drainage speed from the contact patch. As a result, the Fulda Carat Progresso tire demonstrates very high resistance to aquaplaning.
The tire's rubber compound contains special components that make the tread more elastic. This allows it to more closely follow all the irregularities on the road surface, which, in turn, significantly improved traction and reduced the braking distance, especially on wet surfaces.
Another distinctive feature of this tire is its very high acoustic comfort, which was achieved through the application of a whole complex of measures included in the DualShift technology. It involves the use of tread blocks of different sizes and shapes and their arrangement with an irregular pitch. The practical result of such design refinements was a significant reduction in resonant noises and vibrations that occur during movement.
