The tread pattern has a "winter" design, featuring a V-shaped arrangement of grooves. This, at the very least, guarantees stable traction in adverse weather conditions, improves traction and braking properties on wet surfaces and snow, and reduces rolling resistance. At the edges, the grooves intersect with each other. In combination with the beveled edges of the blocks, this allows the tread to capture and hold snow, which also improves traction properties on winter roads.
