The Firemax Potentia Sport 2 model is created exclusively for summer asphalt — for those who value sharp reactions, stability on high-speed highways, and are not willing to compromise with understeer and "vagueness" of handling. By its constructive nature, this is a thoroughbred passenger tire of the Ultra High Performance category.
Handling without compromise
The main challenge in creating such a tire is to maintain the sports accuracy of reaction to the steering wheel. This was achieved through a carcass with an enhanced structure of thread density and an optimized sidewall profile. Unlike standard models, where the sidewall is intentionally soft for absorbing unevenness, here it has increased stiffness. During sharp turns, long corners, or emergency maneuvers, the tire maintains its geometry unchanged — the contact patch does not "float", and the block edges do not bend. This provides predictable, linear feedback and impeccable directional stability even at speeds approaching the vehicle's limits.
Modern compound
The second key innovation is a special polymer composition developed to work in a wide temperature range. A summer tire should be elastic not only at +30 °C but also on a cool, rainy day when the thermometer approaches zero. Its recipe maintains molecular mobility in low-temperature conditions, which keeps the micro-roughness of the working surface active, and the grooves continue to effectively "grip" the wet asphalt.
However, the true mastery of the engineers is revealed in the heat. During prolonged high-speed driving, the tread heats up to critical values, which leads to the destruction of bonds and accelerated abrasive wear in many tires. In this case, the compound contains thermostabilizing additives that prevent overheating and micro-cracks in the structure. As a result, the model maintains its integrity, does not "overheat", and does not lose its grip properties even after an hour of driving in peak loads.
Hydrodynamics on guard of safety
On a wet road, the main enemy is the water wedge. The model is equipped with an increased volume of longitudinal drainage grooves, located across the entire width of the tread. Their depth and angle of inclination are calculated to quickly evacuate water. This minimizes the risk of a continuous water film between the tire and the road surface, providing confident grip and a shortened braking distance even in an intense downpour.
Key features of Firemax Potentia Sport 2:
- the enhanced construction guarantees minimal deformation under the action of transverse and longitudinal accelerations, providing sharp, informative handling and stability at high speeds;
- the increased volume and optimized geometry of the longitudinal grooves effectively cope with the water film, minimizing the risk of hydroplaning and maintaining control over the vehicle;
- the rubber compound with thermostabilization prevents degradation of the tread during prolonged high-speed driving, ensuring stable grip throughout the entire period of operation.
