The Dunlop Sportmax GPRa-13 motorcycle tire is designed for sportbikes. The model is considered a flagship of the tire line, differing from its other representatives in operational characteristics. They are much closer to the eponymous racing tire than to its "civilian" analogs.
Several compounds
The tire is offered in two versions - for the front and rear wheels. In both cases, a compound with a different degree of elasticity is used in the manufacture of the tread. The front tire is divided into 3 longitudinal sections, and the rear tire is divided into 5. The central part has the highest stiffness, which ensures stability of traction properties at high speed, fuel efficiency, and resistance to wear. In turn, the edges of the tread are made of a more elastic compound, thanks to which the tire literally sticks to the road when the motorcycle is tilted.
Carcass with seamless cord
The tire's design is based on a fully synthetic carcass. In addition to its low weight, it has high stiffness and strength, as well as low heat generation when driving at high speeds. All these properties are ensured by the progressive method of cord winding, which makes it possible to avoid the formation of seams and joints between the threads, as well as ensure their very dense arrangement.
Soft ride
The front tire has a special filler in the sidewalls. It is a long cord made of elastic material. It dampens a large part of the impact effect from road irregularities, which ensures better comfort when handling the motorcycle.
Rigid breaker
Directly under the tread is a very rigid "substrate" - a breaker with extremely low elasticity made of synthetic cord with longitudinal winding. This element ensures stability of traction properties in turns, reliable and predictable behavior of the motorcycle.
