The Dunlop SP Winter VAN 01 winter tire is designed for small commercial vehicles. In motion, it is characterized by excellent stability and traction properties on any winter surface. It has a longer service life and reliability in the most unfavorable operating conditions compared to most similar products from other brands.
Excellent traction and grip
The tread pattern of the tire is designed with a directional design and symmetrical arrangement of elements. A significant part of these elements are blocks distributed over several functional areas. In the central part, the elements are arranged in three longitudinal rows and in a "checkerboard" order, forming long, intersecting transverse edges. These edges provide the tire with acceleration intensity and directional stability on snowy surfaces. The blocks located on the edges of the tread are turned transversely and have high resistance to deformation under the influence of lateral forces. This gives the tire stability when maneuvering, and when braking on snowy surfaces, it increases the intensity of deceleration.
Reliability on icy surfaces
The tread pattern contains, in addition to blocks, a huge number of narrow slits - lamellas. These elements are strictly perpendicular to the direction of motion. The sharp edges formed by them have a height sufficient to cut through the water film forming on the icy surface. This allows the tire to effectively grip such road surfaces, providing reliable traction. This property is significantly enhanced by the sinusoidal shape of the lamellas, which increases the length of the edges formed by them.
Key features of Dunlop SP Winter VAN 01
- directional tread pattern with large and high blocks provides excellent traction on snow;
- excellent directional stability due to long intersecting edges in the central part;
- rigid blocks in the shoulder areas provide reliable traction when maneuvering, improve handling due to faster and more accurate transmission of lateral forces to the steering wheel;
- numerous and transverse arrangement of sinusoidal lamellas increases the effectiveness of the tread on icy surfaces.
