Dunlop SP Winter Response 2 is a passenger friction tire of the economy class, which, nevertheless, contains a lot of technologies from more famous predecessors, such as Winter Sport 4D. The tire is characterized by optimized aquadynamics, reduced rolling resistance, and a relatively low cost.
Introduced back in 2013, the model has undergone numerous tests in renowned laboratories. At the same time, it managed to prove its worth with dignity. Of course, the test results did not bring it to the top lines of the rating, but, nevertheless, for its segment, the tire demonstrated quite good performance, which was achieved by the manufacturer thanks to the use of numerous technologies.
Silica-Plus

New carcass shape
To reduce the weight of the tire while maintaining its operational properties, the manufacturer changed the shape of the carcass. This, in turn, also affected the resistance to deformation. As a result, the Dunlop SP Winter Response 2 tire demonstrates confident passing on various road surfaces and also contributes to fuel efficiency.
Reverse Snow Guide
Of course, the main task of a winter tire is to combat snowy roads. It is for this purpose that the Reverse Snow Guide technology was applied in the central part of the tread. It represents an inverted pattern that more effectively copes with the snow cover, providing the driver with confident control.
Reducing rolling resistance
To maximize the elimination of the rolling resistance effect, a special contour was used, which was previously used in the Winter Sport 4D tire of a higher class. Thanks to this, the fuel efficiency indicators provided by the tire have reached a new level.
In general, the manufacturer paid special attention to the safety of movement during the winter period when developing. Therefore, all used technologies contribute to the stable and adequate behavior of the car in the extreme conditions of the winter period. In addition, the environmental friendliness of the tire was not forgotten, which is ensured by a special composition of the rubber mixture.
Thus, the Winter Response 2 model is a budget option that, nevertheless, has all the basic properties of higher-class tires.
