The summer passenger tire Dunlop SP Sport 2050M is distinguished by excellent operational and consumer qualities. This is evidenced by the fact that many well-known manufacturers use this model as the primary equipment for their products. This tire is intended, first and foremost, for powerful passenger cars of the middle class and is produced in 7 sizes, ranging from 205/55R16 to 255/40R18. At the same time, the British manufacturer allows the operation of this model at speeds of up to 300 km/h.
The symmetric non-directional tread pattern features an S-shaped design consisting of five longitudinal ribs, including the shoulder areas. Thanks to the presence of three wide longitudinal ribs with high structural rigidity in the central part of the tread, the tire demonstrates excellent course stability when moving at very high speeds. To improve resistance to lateral accelerations, the three longitudinal ribs located in the center of the tread are additionally reinforced with self-locking lamellas, which increase the rigidity of these tread elements.
To ensure stable and reliable behavior when cornering, the shoulder areas of the tread are not particularly wide, which made it possible to provide this part of the tread with a high level of rigidity. As a result, the Dunlop SP Sport 2050M tire has acquired a sporty character of handling. In addition, the shoulder areas of the tread are equipped with transverse channels through which water is removed from the contact patch. In addition to these water-removing channels, the tire is equipped with four longitudinal grooves with a sufficiently large width and depth. Thanks to this, it was possible to provide the tire with excellent resistance to aquaplaning.
