The summer tire Dunlop Sp sport 2020 is designed for use in passenger cars with increased dynamic characteristics. It is characterized by increased stability of grip at high speeds, reliability of handling on wet pavement, resistance to abrasive wear and tears.
The tread pattern has a pronounced S-shaped design, formed by the corresponding arrangement of numerous blocks. Their edges allow the tire to demonstrate the ability to provide intense acceleration and braking, primarily on wet pavement, while allowing easy control of grip properties. Another important feature of the pattern is the presence of a wide solid longitudinal rib in its central part, which runs exactly along its middle. This element, due to its location and high resistance to deformation, stabilizes the grip properties at high speeds, ensuring good accuracy in handling, reducing fuel consumption and significantly slowing down the process of abrasive wear of the tread. These properties are further enhanced by the use of an additional synthetic cord in the breaker, which has a spiral "seamless" winding, forming a very rigid "substrate" immediately under the tread, resistant not only to deformation but also to impact mechanical stress. The next difference of the tire is its rubber compound. Its composition is distinguished by the presence of a large amount of "silica" and special fillers that increase the homogeneity of the compound, contributing to a more even distribution of the load on the tire. As a result, not only the grip on wet pavement increases, but also high indicators of strength and resistance of the tread to wear, punctures and tears are achieved.
Main features of Dunlop Sp sport 2020:
- S-shaped arrangement of transverse edges of blocks increases traction and braking intensity on wet pavement, improving handling on dry pavement, reducing wear and rolling resistance;
- a rigid longitudinal rib, running exactly along the center of the tread pattern, increases the accuracy of handling and directional stability, reducing fuel consumption and preventing wear;
- increased groove width minimizes the risk of aquaplaning, maintaining this ability of the tire even at high mileage;
- optimized rubber compound composition improves grip on wet pavement, reduces rolling resistance and prevents overheating of the tire under high loads.
