Description Dunlop SP444
The Dunlop SP444 truck tire was specifically designed for use on the driving axles of highway tractors. A beneficial distinction of this model is its high traction properties, both on summer and winter types of pavement. Also, it is impossible not to note the widespread use of the latest technologies, thanks to which the tire allows for a significant reduction in operating costs due to low rolling resistance and a prolonged service life.
Wide contact patch
One of the characteristic features of the Dunlop SP 444 model is its symmetrical non-directional tread pattern. It is beneficially distinguished by its significant width, which made it possible to accommodate three massive longitudinal ribs in the central part and two shoulder zones, which also have substantial dimensions. Such a design contributes to the optimal distribution of external pressure over the contact patch, which, in turn, leads to an increase in mileage due to high resistance to uneven wear.
Excellent traction and high braking efficiency in any conditions
Since this model was initially developed with consideration of the specific operating conditions in winter, its tread pattern received an increased number of traction edges. At the same time, a significant part of them is located transversely, formed not only by the presence of a large number of blocks, but also by numerous direct lamellas. In addition, the traction edges located in the shoulder zones are characterized by significant length. All this together allows the tire to demonstrate excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction, including high efficiency when braking on slippery roads.
Main features of the Dunlop SP 444 tire
- the tire is designed for the driving axles of highway tractors;
- excellent traction properties, both in summer and winter, due to the increased number of traction edges formed not only by blocks, but also by lamellas cut into them;
- a wide contact patch provides a more even distribution of external weight over the support surface, which increases the carrying capacity and prolongs the service life of the tire;
- "stone ejectors" in the shoulder zones prevent damage to the tread from foreign objects that get stuck in it;
- special components in the rubber mixture prolong the service life and reduce rolling resistance;
- a reinforced carcass, created using the latest technologies and materials, provides high resistance to dynamic deformation.
