Description Doublestar DSR268
The impressive white sidewall writing is far from all that the Doublestar DSR268 truck tire, designed for use on the rear axle of trucks and buses, can boast. First and foremost, it is worth noting the excellent adaptability to year-round operation. That is, this model is perfect for use both in summer and winter. To a large extent, this is due to the universal tread pattern, which provides excellent grip on any type of surface.
Low rolling resistance
Despite the presence of numerous traction edges, this model is distinguished by a fairly low rolling resistance. It is ensured by the original design of the central longitudinal rib. This tread element has high deformation resistance, while having a large number of zigzag-shaped lamellas.
During movement, they open up, forming numerous traction edges, but at the same time, their walls, due to the zigzag shape, are tightly fixed to each other, which allows significantly increasing the deformation resistance of the central longitudinal rib. The practical result of this solution is reduced rolling resistance with high traction properties.
Block structure of the shoulder zones
Unlike the central part of the tread pattern, its shoulder zones contain one longitudinal row of separate blocks. During movement, they form numerous transverse edges, thanks to which the tire demonstrates a number of important properties. First of all, these are excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction, as well as excellent passability in deep snow, where the blocks of the shoulder zones temporarily become a kind of analogue of off-road tires.
Main features of the Doublestar DSR268 tire
- the possibility of operation in winter due to the original design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, which contains a large number of traction edges;
- low rolling resistance due to the rigid design of the central longitudinal rib;
- excellent traction properties in the longitudinal direction due to the numerous blocks of the shoulder zones, the edges of which are mainly transverse;
- a long service life is ensured by the large depth of the tread pattern and the abrasion-resistant rubber compound.
