Description Doublestar DSR118
The Doublestar DSR118 cargo tire stands out for its broader range of applications compared to most similar tire products. This model is suitable for installation on both steering and trailer axles of trucks used for intercity and interregional transportation. The tire owes its versatility largely to its symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, which is excellently adapted to various operating conditions.
Multiple transverse S-shaped lamellas
One of the characteristic features of the tread pattern of this tire is the presence of a large number of S-shaped lamellas cut across its entire depth and arranged transversely. The main functional purpose of these tread elements is to form very long transverse edges. Thanks to them, the tire demonstrates excellent braking efficiency, especially on wet surfaces, without compromising other important operational qualities.
Excellent directional stability
In addition to lamellas, the tread pattern contains six longitudinal ribs, four of which are located in its central part, and two are its shoulder zones. In combination with the rigid design of these tread elements, this provides the tire with excellent directional stability when moving at high speeds. Moreover, if it is installed on the steering axle, such a design allows for fast and accurate reactions to the driver's actions, which significantly simplifies the process of managing a heavy truck.
High resistance to aquaplaning
All six tread ribs are separated from each other by five wide drainage grooves. In combination with the significant depth of the tread pattern, this allows for a significant increase in the tire's resistance to aquaplaning. At the same time, the above-mentioned S-shaped lamellas act as a kind of "wipers" that direct moisture into the longitudinal grooves, which significantly improves the efficiency of the drainage system.
Main features of the Doublestar DSR118 tire
- a wide range of applications provided by the possibility of installing the tire on both the steering and trailer axles;
- excellent directional stability and fuel efficiency due to the very rigid design of all six longitudinal ribs;
- excellent traction on dry and wet roads is ensured by the large size of the contact patch and the high performance of the drainage system.
