Description Continental LDR+
The Continental LDR+ truck tire, despite its clearly defined area of application by the German manufacturer, is distinguished by its wide versatility. The fact is that this model, being designed for operation on the leading axles, is perfectly suitable not only for trucks of small and medium capacity, but also for buses of small capacity. In addition, it is impossible not to note the presence in its design of a number of proprietary technologies of the German tire giant, which gave this tire excellent operational characteristics.
G-shaped blocks in the central part
One of the most distinctive features of the Continental LDR+ model is the design of the central part of its symmetrical non-directional tread pattern. It contains two very wide longitudinal ribs, each of which is a series of individually standing G-shaped blocks. This original technical solution allows the tire to demonstrate a number of advantages. The main one is the presence in the central part of a large number of very long edges of adhesion, located at a significant angle relative to the direction of movement. This provided the tire with a practically ideal balance between adhesion properties, directional stability, rolling resistance, and also significantly improved the evenness of distribution of external pressure on the support surface.
Trapezoidal blocks of the shoulder zones
In contrast to the individual tread elements in the central part, the blocks located in the shoulder zones have a trapezoidal shape and small size. This made it possible to form a large number of transverse edges of adhesion in this part of the tread, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent performance during acceleration and braking.
Main features of the Continental LDR+ tire
- the tire is designed for the leading axle;
- wide range of applications due to the possibility of installation not only on trucks, but also on buses;
- the original design of the central part of the tread, containing two rows of G-shaped blocks, provides the tire with increased traction and adhesion properties with excellent directional stability, low noise level and rolling resistance;
- trapezoidal blocks form numerous transversely arranged edges of adhesion in the shoulder zones, which allows the tire to demonstrate excellent efficiency during acceleration and braking.
