Description Continental HSW 2 Coach
The Continental HSW 2 Coach truck tire was specifically designed for buses operating in harsh winter conditions. This model is available in one size, 295/80R22.5, and can be installed on both steering and driving axles of buses. In addition to excellent traction on any winter surface, this tire is distinguished by an exceptionally high level of comfort.
This model features a tread with a symmetrical non-directional pattern, distinguished by an original design. The tread pattern contains five longitudinal ribs, each formed by separately standing blocks.
In the central part of the tread, the Continental HSW 2 Coach has three rows of massive rectangular blocks, spaced at a minimum distance from each other. This enables the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability on winter roads. Additionally, the dense construction of blocks in the central part of the tread provides low rolling resistance, which has a very beneficial effect on fuel efficiency. It is also worth noting the presence of 3D lamellas on the surface of each block, which not only form additional traction edges but also increase the stiffness of the tread elements, contributing to a more even distribution of pressure across the contact patch.
When creating the tire, German specialists paid much attention to such an important parameter as safety. One of the elements that ensure a high level of safety is the Air-Keep technology, designed to combat slow air pressure loss inside the tire. This technology involves the use of a special high-density layer that prevents the diffusion of compressed air inside the tire through its walls. In combination with a four-layer three-layer breaker, this allows for a two-fold reduction in slow air pressure loss.
Key features of the Continental HSW 2 Coach tire
- An optimized S-shaped design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern provides a high level of safety when driving on various types of surfaces;
- As the tire wears, it becomes possible to use it in the summer, which eliminates the need for wheel changes and seasonal storage;
- The five-rib construction of the tread provides excellent directional stability;
- Low rolling resistance due to the dense arrangement of blocks in the central part of the tread;
- Multiple three-dimensional lamellas create additional traction edges and increase the stiffness of the tread blocks, ensuring a more even distribution of pressure across the contact patch;
- The possibility of repeated tread restoration allows avoiding expenses on purchasing new tires;
- Excellent resistance to spalling, thanks to wide longitudinal grooves.
