Description Continental HS3 Eco-plus
The commercial tire Continental HS3 Eco-plus is installed on the steering axle. It is designed for use in long-haul transportation. It is characterized by excellent fuel economy for its category and high mileage, stability of traction properties on wet pavement.
A distinctive feature of the tread design is the use of so-called "water-draining pockets". These elements are located in the shoulder areas and have a well-like profile, which provides additional drying of the contact patch, reducing the risk of aquaplaning. This allowed to reduce the width of the longitudinal drainage grooves, as a result of which the useful area of the tread increased, leading to an improvement in traction properties on dry pavement, wear resistance and mileage of the tire.
The tire tread is made 2-layered. Its tread is made of a compound with increased elasticity and adhesion. The inner layer, having high stiffness and thermal conductivity, improves steering accuracy and reduces rolling resistance.
Main features:
- special lamella-pockets in the shoulder areas reduce the risk of aquaplaning;
- increased useful area of the tread increases mileage and traction on dry pavement;
- 2-layer tread structure increases the reliability of traction and steering accuracy, reduces rolling resistance.
