The tread consists of optimally selected blocks and distances between them. The blocks of the Continental HDR2 also have an unusual shape, which made it possible to significantly improve the self-cleaning properties of the tread and its traction characteristics. Four deep, wide, continuous grooves, as well as grooves between the blocks, provide rapid water removal from the contact patch, thereby increasing the effect of resistance to aquaplaning. Lameles of various shapes and depths not only increased the grip with the road surface but also provided a minimal sound effect when moving. The lameles also distribute the load more evenly, increasing the service life of the tread.
