Description Bridgestone W990
The Bridgestone W990 truck tire is distinguished by several unique properties, the most important of which is that it was specifically designed for operation on winter roads. Additionally, this model is intended for installation on the driving axles of trucks and buses used in interregional and international transportation. The size range includes three types with a mounting diameter of 22.5 inches, making this tire suitable for installation on a wide range of modern truck models.
Excellent traction on winter roads
Since the Bridgestone W990 tire is designed for installation on driving axles, it's no surprise that its tread pattern contains a huge number of small tread blocks, predominantly rectangular in shape. By using this solution, Japanese tire makers were able to provide a contact patch with countless sharp edges, which led to a significant increase in traction characteristics, especially on snowy roads. At the same time, all these edges are located at a right angle to the direction of movement, which allowed for maximum improvement in acceleration and braking efficiency.
Excellent directional stability
All tread blocks are grouped into four longitudinal ribs, with each consisting of two rows of blocks. This made it possible to provide the tire with several important advantages. First and foremost, this is excellent directional stability. Additionally, all four longitudinal ribs are characterized by very large sizes, which made it possible to maximize the contact patch area, while creating conditions for a more even distribution of load across it.
Key features of Bridgestone W990
- a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern specially designed for operation on winter roads, where it demonstrates excellent efficiency;
- the tire is designed for installation on the driving axles of trucks and buses;
- thanks to the large number of tread blocks, excellent traction characteristics are ensured on winter roads;
- the multi-layer carcass construction is highly resistant to mechanical stress;
- very long service life due to the possibility of restoring the tread pattern.
