Description Bridgestone R295
The Bridgestone R295 cargo tire was developed with consideration of the specific operating conditions on the steering axle of trucks used in urban transportation. Nevertheless, this model is also excellent for highway tractors. This model is characterized by excellent directional stability and handling on any speed, as well as low operating costs, ensured by wear resistance and minimal rolling resistance.
Four longitudinal ribs
The symmetric non-directional tread pattern of the Bridgestone R295 is distinguished by the presence of a minimal number of individual elements. There are only four longitudinal ribs, separated from each other by wide drainage grooves. The reduction in the number of individual tread elements, combined with a significant tread width, made it possible to make them very massive, which in turn led to an increase in resistance to dynamic deformation. This property was further enhanced by special longitudinal lamellas. Additionally, the massive dimensions of the longitudinal ribs made it possible to significantly increase the size of the contact patch, which had a very favorable effect on the traction properties.
However, other advantages of such a design are much more important. First and foremost, this is excellent directional stability combined with high accuracy and speed of response to driver actions. This greatly simplifies the process of managing a heavy truck. It is also worth noting the very low rolling resistance, which is caused not only by the minimal number of individual tread elements, but also by their resistance to dynamic deformation.
Main features of the Bridgestone R295 tire
- the tire is designed for the steering axle of trucks operated in urban conditions;
- four longitudinal ribs with massive dimensions and a very rigid structure provide excellent directional stability, high handling, and very low rolling resistance;
- significant contact patch sizes improve traction on dry roads;
- three deep and wide longitudinal drainage grooves provide excellent resistance to aquaplaning;
- low noise level, thanks to the wavy shape of all four longitudinal tread ribs.
