The Bridgestone R166 commercial tire is installed on the steering axle of highway tractors. It is adapted for use in long-haul transportation. It improves steering accuracy, provides a significant reduction in operating costs due to an extended lifespan and reliability.

The tread pattern is distinguished by a closed design with an increased width and depth of drainage grooves. This improves stability on wet pavement. There are special protrusions on the bottom of the grooves that prevent stones from getting stuck in the tread. The tread ribs are made in the form of monolithic elements with high stiffness. Along with their location, this ensures even distribution of load on the road surface, reducing the rate of tread wear.

The shoulder areas are enlarged and have a trapezoidal shape in the side projection. Such features give them exceptional resistance to deformation. As a result, the tire demonstrates improved steering accuracy and directional stability, reduced rolling resistance. The ribs in the central part are distinguished by Z-shaped lamellas, which on wet pavement increase the effectiveness of the tread during deceleration.
