Description Bridgestone R-Steer 001
The Bridgestone R-Steer 001 truck tire was specifically created by this world-renowned Japanese manufacturer for regional transportation. The tire is designed for installation on the steering axles of heavy trucks and is equally well suited for both light off-road driving and high-speed highways. This tire has replaced the popular Bridgestone R927 model.
When creating this tire, the company's specialists took into account the possibility of its operation in the most diverse conditions. In many ways, this is why a preference was given to a tread with a universal S-shaped symmetric non-directional pattern.
The central part of the tread has three longitudinal ribs, the central one of which has wavy edges. The combination of a solid construction and a wavy profile made it possible to provide the tire with excellent directional stability on one hand, and to significantly reduce the noise level on the other.
The two remaining longitudinal ribs also have a solid construction, which made it possible to achieve a significant reduction in rolling resistance and, consequently, fuel consumption.
The shoulder areas of the Bridgestone R-Steer 001 tread have fairly massive dimensions and are characterized by a small profile radius. This design allows for a larger contact patch area and its rectangular shape, which contributes to the optimal distribution of a large weight over the contact patch. The practical result of this design solution is an improvement in traction and an increase in the durability of the tread to uneven wear.
A new tread rubber compound called NanoPro-Tech was used for this tire. The main advantage of the new tread compound is a significant reduction in rolling resistance and heat generation, which in turn led to a reduction in fuel consumption and an increase in the service life.
Main features of the Bridgestone R-Steer 001 tire
- Thanks to the S-shaped symmetric non-directional tread pattern, the tire is equally well suited for driving on both light off-road and high-speed highways;
- Five solid longitudinal ribs significantly reduced fuel consumption and improved directional stability;
- The new NanoPro-Tech rubber compound, which significantly reduced tire heat generation and rolling resistance;
- Four wide longitudinal grooves in combination with a large number of transverse lamellas provide effective drainage when driving in rainy conditions.
