DescriptionDescription Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684
All-season passenger tire Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684, produced by the world-famous and respected Japanese manufacturer, is designed for car enthusiasts who put the stability of the vehicle when driving at high speeds on the highway first, as well as for those who value the accuracy of control in urban conditions.
Like all tires in the Dueler line, this tire was specially created for the widest range of high-performance vehicles, including SUVs and four-wheel drive pickups. To give the D684 tire its signature character, its design was created using specialized simulation tools. Thanks to the optimized S-shaped design of the non-directional symmetrical tread pattern, the tire demonstrates excellent grip, both on the highway and on dirt roads. The tire's pattern seems simple and complex at the same time.
The entire central part of the tread is occupied by separate massive blocks, grouped into two longitudinal ribs. This solution provided the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 tire with a large contact patch area, which, in turn, led to a significant improvement in traction characteristics. In addition, the blocks located in the central part of the tread are spaced at a minimum distance from each other, which allowed to significantly reduce the rolling resistance, and therefore fuel consumption. It is also worth noting that the entire tread is divided into separate functional zones by three very wide and deep longitudinal grooves. With this solution, it was possible to achieve high resistance to aquaplaning on the one hand, and excellent self-cleaning of the tread from sand and dirt on the other, which improved the vehicle's passability.
Main features of the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 tire
- phenomenal balance of characteristics for a tire designed for high-performance vehicles, provided by the optimized S-shaped tread pattern using computer modeling tools;
- excellent self-cleaning and water drainage due to the wide and deep longitudinal grooves;
- good passability is provided by two rows of blocks in the central part of the tread and massive off-road traction in the shoulder areas.

I've been using these tires on all my Suzuki Jimny cars since 2005 (now my fourth car) and not only on asphalt - surprisingly, they handle sand and mud quite well (without excessive enthusiasm, of course), although the tread is not designed for off-road use.
The fuel efficiency is excellent - the consumption is fully consistent with the passport data, which is not often seen, and there are no complaints about noise and comfort, the handling is also quite decent, although it's not suitable for "racing" (which is understandable - off-road vehicles with frames and bridges are not meant for racing).
I haven't noticed any tendency to aquaplaning (although the speed should be chosen wisely). For harsh winters (below -15 degrees Celsius) with snow, these tires are not suitable, but in summer and during the off-season, they perform wonderfully - in the range from -5 to +35 degrees Celsius, there are no issues.
The durability (wear resistance) of these tires is also satisfactory: 100,000 km is not the limit, and I still have about 1 mm of tread left before reaching the " Wear Indicator".
What's particularly pleasing is the reliability of these tires and the consistency of their quality: over 15 years and four cars, I haven't had a single puncture or any non-standard situation (knock on wood, of course).
In conclusion: these are excellent, balanced tires without any pretenses, but I deducted one star for the "price justification" category: in 2022, the price skyrocketed to an unreasonable level, but that's a question for the manufacturer, not the tires themselves.

If the tires didn't wear out, I would have driven my whole life without replacing them.
Predictable behavior of the car in any weather. Although, I haven't had to maneuver on ice with them)
I've driven 120,000 km, it's definitely time to change them... but they'll make it through the summer
they're almost noiseless, and they brake quite well.- Vehicle:

The best road tire for a passenger car. Not designed for 4WD use on a heavy off-road terrain or in winter conditions. It is completely unclear why they equip the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, a two-ton chassis, diesel, four-wheel drive vehicle, which is purpose-designed for A/T, with them as standard tires. It balances perfectly on the highway from the very start, is very quiet and handles well. Wear over four seasons is about 50%. If driven like a passenger car
