Description Bontyre T-820
The all-season tire Bontyre T-820 was specially designed for installation on trailer axles of trucks operating on highways and high-speed roads. It is offered in only one size, 235/75 R17.5, which predetermined a number of design features.
4-rib design of the tread pattern
The small diameter did not allow domestic specialists to equip the tread pattern with a large number of elements. They limited themselves to only two longitudinal ribs in the center of the tread and shoulder areas. However, this made them very massive, which brought a number of advantages to the Bontyre T-820 tire. First of all, it allowed to maximize the contact patch area, which provided excellent traction on dry roads.
In addition, the massive size of the tread ribs and shoulder areas gave them very high rigidity, which not only affected handling but also ensured a more even distribution of external pressure on the contact patch. As a result, the tire has an increased carrying capacity of 2725 kg, as well as excellent resistance to uneven wear, which significantly extends its service life.
Shortened braking distance
On the surface of both central ribs, there are special lamellas that, when in contact with the road surface, create traction edges. Due to them, the tire demonstrates a shorter braking distance, especially on wet pavement. At the same time, the lamellas are located at a significant angle to the direction of movement. Thanks to this solution, it was possible to maintain the rolling resistance at the same very low level.
Main features of Bontyre T-820
- the possibility of tread restoration due to the use of a all-metal carcass;
- excellent directional stability, regardless of speed and road characteristics, due to four very rigid ribs;
- even load distribution on the contact patch allowed to increase the carrying capacity and resistance to uneven wear of the tread;
- extremely low rolling resistance due to the minimal number of tread elements;
- the use of only high-quality components in the rubber compound and advanced technologies for its preparation made it possible to give the tread excellent resistance to abrasive wear, punctures, and cuts.
