The BKT Rock Grip Port model is a specialized consumable for the extreme operating conditions of port terminals and metallurgical plants. Its development was carried out with one goal: to provide maximum mileage and safety for container handlers and RTG cranes operating on abrasive surfaces. Each characteristic of this tire is the result of engineering adaptation to the specifics of the tasks, where standard solutions fail.
Design specifications
The tire is made according to the tubeless (TL) diagonal design IND-4. This time-tested scheme with four layers of high-strength metal cord was chosen for a reason. It provides maximum lateral stiffness and resistance to deformation under extreme loads of empty containers, which is critical for precise maneuvering of multi-ton equipment. The multi-layer carcass acts as a single buffer, effectively absorbing impact loads.
Technologies
The model is based on two key technologies that ensure its effectiveness. A special compound with increased technical carbon content and heat-resistant polymers. It radically reduces the formation of internal heat during continuous cyclic deformation, which is the main reason for the "explosion" of tires in the port. This composition maintains structural integrity even with prolonged contact with heated surfaces in workshops.
Reinforced tread and sidewall design. Massive, connected by bridges tread blocks made of a mixture with increased resistance to cuts and abrasion form a virtually monolithic surface, resistant to metal shavings and splinters. Deep grooves provide the necessary drainage and self-cleaning from dirt.
