Passenger tire with increased passability BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM of the respected North American manufacturer is designed for all-wheel drive off-road vehicles, 80% of the operation of which falls on off-road and 20% on the road with a hard surface.
The design of the symmetrical tread pattern implies operation in harsh off-road conditions. The tread pattern of the BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM tire consists of two central rows of individual blocks and two shoulder zones, which are essentially two rows of blocks. Due to the blockiness and great depth of the tread pattern, this tire demonstrates excellent traction and coupling characteristics when driving on sand, mud, and stones.
One of the distinctive features of the tire tread is the blocks located in the shoulder zones. The cutting edges of the blocks in the shoulder zones of the tread for their exceptional "bite" into the surface received the name "Digger Lugz" from the manufacturer. When developing the tread pattern design, computer modeling tools were widely used, which provided the tire with remarkable coupling characteristics with rocky soils and slippery surfaces.
The tire carcass was developed taking into account the harsh conditions of off-road operation. The basis of the carcass is a three-layer cord called TriGard. The tire's two-layer steel breaker also has increased strength. To prevent damage, the tire sidewall has a reinforced two-layer structure. In addition, the composition of the tire's rubber compound was chosen to provide exceptional strength and wear resistance.
