One of the main advantages of the all-season off-road tire BFGoodrich Krawler T/A is its versatility of application. In addition to the possibility of operation throughout the year, this model offers good traction properties on any type of off-road, including rocky, earthy, and sandy surfaces. At the same time, North American tire manufacturers have managed to give it a good level of comfort, which is not too often found in tires that are primarily oriented towards off-road use.
Optimized tread pattern of BFGoodrich Krawler T/A
When developing the tread pattern of the BFGoodrich Krawler T/A, the main attention was paid to ensuring maximum traction properties on off-road. That's why its design features a large number of individual blocks. They have a complex polygonal shape, and are arranged in such a way that they provide the contact patch with a multitude of differently directed and very long traction edges. This gives the tire excellent traction properties, which remain the same on any type of surface, thanks to the large distance between the blocks. It is more than enough for the tread to self-clean not only from small soil particles but also from fairly large stones.
Two-layer tread
The tread of this tire is made using two different rubber compound compositions. The main difference between them is in elasticity. The lower layer has increased stiffness and mechanical strength, which protects the tire from damage. In turn, the outer tread is made from a more elastic compound, which smooths out most of the small irregularities, providing a comfortable ride.
TriGard Plus technology
The BFGoodrich Krawler T/A was one of the first to receive a new variation of the well-proven TriGard technology. The addition of the word Plus to its name means the presence not only of a three-layer nylon cord carcass but also an additional layer, also made from nylon cord, in the tire's sidewalls. This gives it even greater reliability and resistance to mechanical stress.
Dual steel cord
Under the three layers of nylon cord, there is a much more robust construction that provides the tire with exceptional strength and reliability when operating in off-road conditions. We are talking about a dual steel cord that has excellent carrying capacity and can also withstand even the strongest impacts without any problems.
CoolWedge bead filler
Inside the bead of this model, there is a special cavity filled with a special ball-shaped CoolWedge filler. It provides a more even distribution of external pressure on the bead, which protects the tire from damage. At the same time, its special shape prevents it from self-removal when the air pressure inside the tire is low.
