Description BFGoodrich G-Force Winter 2
The BFGoodrich G-Force Winter 2 winter tire outperforms the previous generation model in almost all operational properties, primarily in terms of traction on snow, braking distance and service life. This was achieved through the use of a new tread pattern and advanced technologies.
Compared to its predecessor, the tread of this model has lost two longitudinal ribs in the central part. Instead, it features numerous blocks of rhomboid and rectangular shape, which are arranged both longitudinally and at a sharp angle. Additionally, the number of such elements has been increased, and quite significantly - up to 40% depending on the tire size. This has allowed for a significant improvement in traction on snow, which is most pronounced during longitudinal accelerations.
The next difference between this tire and the previous generation model is the use of two types of lamellas. In the center of the tread, there are transverse straight lamellas. They improve the tire's performance when accelerating on slippery surfaces, and also additionally improve resistance to aquaplaning. In turn, the wavy lamellas in the shoulder zones reduce the braking distance, and the corresponding shape of their walls limits the mobility of the blocks during lateral accelerations, which increases the tire's stability when maneuvering.
Key features of BFGoodrich G-Force Winter 2
- the tire is designed for operation in so-called "European" winter conditions;
- an increased number of blocks by 40% compared to the previous generation model provides improved traction on snow;
- lamellas of several types increase the efficiency of the tire on slippery surfaces;
- excellent stability against both aquaplaning and slushplaning;
- the optimized profile tread shape increases the size of the contact patch.
