The tire's tread features "active lamella" technology. An increased number of narrow slits with sharpened edges enhances traction and braking properties on wet surfaces. They are further reinforced by the characteristics of the rubber compound, which contains a large amount of "silica", giving the tread increased elasticity, allowing the lamella edges to more easily penetrate the water film on the road surface. Another factor contributing to the tire's effectiveness on wet surfaces is the Aqua-Flume technology. The special shape of the drainage grooves increases the intensity of water removal from the contact patch, preventing hydroplaning.
