BFGoodrich releases a new highway tire for SUVs

BFGoodrich has released a new highway tire, the BFGoodrich Advantage Control HT, designed for SUVs and pickups, intended for everyday life and possessing "obvious advantages" that, combined with an affordable price, simplify the selection process for consumers, the company reports. Additionally, the BFGoodrich HD Pro T/A tire was also introduced, created specifically for owners of popular pickups in the US.

Since the Advantage Control HT tires are designed primarily for use on asphalt, the developers improved ride smoothness and acoustic comfort, and also reduced braking distances, both on dry and wet surfaces, and increased the resource by 10% compared to the previous model - BFGoodrich Advantage Sport LT (tests on braking efficiency and rideability were carried out using the Ford F-150 pickup; tires were tested in the size 265/70 R17).

To enhance grip on wet roads, active lamellas and "all-season" rubber compounds were used, and the company emphasizes that the novelty is well suited for modern full-size SUVs and pickups. Additionally, the optimized contact patch, increased tread depth, and silica in the composition provide stability of characteristics throughout the entire life cycle of the tires.

BFGoodrich plans to release the Advantage Control HT in 22 sizes, after which the size range of the Advantage Control line (which also includes the passenger BFGoodrich Advantage Control) will grow to 122 positions.

"BFGoodrich introduced the Advantage Control HT to simplify the tire buying process for drivers," said Andrew Bezanson, Senior Director of Active Lifestyle Brands for Michelin (which has owned BFGoodrich since 1988). "The new tire is a comfortable and reliable option for daily use."

The second novelty, the BFGoodrich HD Pro T/A, features an optimized contact patch with improved load distribution, which increases the life of the tread, while a special CoolWedge insert in the shoulder areas reduces heat generation, which also increases the life of the tires, and a reinforced sidewall construction reduces the likelihood of damage from curb contact.

The tires have entered the US market in 12 sizes, from LT 215/85 R16 to LT 275/65 R20.
