Description Белшина Бел-108
The Belshina Bel-108 truck tire was created specifically for urban and suburban buses produced at the Minsk Automobile Plant. Nevertheless, the Belarusian manufacturer allows the use of this model on any axles of other types of trucks and buses. A distinctive feature of the Belshina Bel-108 tire is its high traction and coupling properties in the longitudinal direction, a long service life, as well as a traditionally low cost for the Belarusian manufacturer, which makes the operation of this model even more economically efficient.
Original construction of the central part of the tread pattern
The tread pattern of this tire is divided into two main functional parts - the central and shoulder zones. They differ significantly from each other, which is due to the differences in the tasks they perform. It is for this reason that the central part of the tread pattern is occupied by three rows of massive blocks of complex polygonal shape. During movement, they form a significant number of engagement edges, which, in combination with their location parallel to the movement, provide the tire with good traction and coupling properties in the longitudinal direction.
High level of acoustic comfort
Since this model was initially intended for buses, particular attention was paid to ensuring a high level of acoustic comfort during its development, which was necessary to achieve without compromising other important tire characteristics. To this end, the Belarusian tire manufacturers divided the shoulder zone from the central part of the tread with two longitudinal ribs without any interruptions throughout their length. These elements serve as a kind of noise absorber, dampening the noise generated by the numerous transverse edges of the blocks located in the central part.
Main features of Belshina Bel-108
- the tire is specifically designed for urban and suburban buses;
- the closed design of the central part of the tread, separated by two longitudinal ribs, provides a high level of acoustic comfort;
- massive blocks in the shoulder zones contribute to increased resistance to uneven wear and also provide excellent stability during sharp maneuvers;
- the multitude of engagement edges formed by the massive polygonal blocks of the central part allow the tire to demonstrate good traction and coupling properties in the longitudinal direction;
- two rigid longitudinal ribs separating the central part of the tread from its shoulder zones improve directional stability across the entire speed range.
