Avon Ranger — a model designed for summer operation on four-wheel drive off-road vehicles and pickups. The main requirements embedded in the design are uncompromising traction in various conditions, resistance to punctures and cuts, as well as a smooth ride. Engineers have made a bet on the maximum "survivability" of the tire under intense load.
Tread structure
The pattern is executed according to the scheme of a multi-block design with elements of a complex directional shape with symmetry. Such geometry has two goals:
- numerous inclined block walls work like "claws", literally biting into surface irregularities;
- due to the increased number of blocks, it was possible to equalize the pressure distribution over the entire contact area. This reduces local overloads and, as a consequence, reduces abrasive wear.
Compound and carcass specifications
For the model, a rubber compound with increased resistance to peeling and delamination was developed. This is achieved due to the content of polymers with high viscosity.
The tire carcass has a reinforced design, and the sidewalls have an increased thickness and an additional layer of cord. This solution minimizes the risk of rupture or cutting when hitting sharp edges.
Key features of Avon Ranger:
- operation on off-road vehicles, crossovers, and pickups used in various conditions;
- an open tread pattern, specially adapted to off-road conditions;
- a rubber compound with exceptional resistance to chipping and delamination;
- a high-strength carcass and locally thickened sidewalls — comprehensive protection against mechanical damage.
