The all-season Arroyo Grand Sport Plus tyre is designed for passenger vehicles and belongs to the high-performance road segment. Its asymmetric tread combines wide longitudinal ribs with an advanced water evacuation system. Special attention has been paid to the performance of the shoulder areas during braking and cornering, as well as to reducing rolling noise.
Asymmetric tread pattern and stability in turns
Different geometry of the inner and outer parts allows load distribution across tread elements. Large contact surface areas provide support on asphalt, while angled sipes add biting edges without dividing all ribs into separate blocks. This helps maintain tread pattern stiffness under lateral loads and ensures precise steering response during directional changes.
Support of the outer shoulder zone
The outer shoulder features extended support areas designed to increase contact area during braking. They help distribute pressure across the tread surface and reduce uneven wear. During manoeuvring, this same zone absorbs a significant portion of lateral load, maintaining the shape of the contact patch. This configuration is beneficial during frequent sequences of acceleration, braking, and cornering in everyday driving.
Water evacuation from the contact patch
Four wide longitudinal grooves form the main channels of the drainage system. They are supplemented by transverse cuts and fine sipes, whose edges help disrupt the water film on the road surface. Water enters the large channels and is expelled from the contact area. The combined action of tread elements helps maintain grip on wet asphalt.
Reduction of rolling noise
Angled grooves with closed ends and a specially selected sequence of tread elements are used to reduce noise. Variable pitch widths alter the intervals at which the tyre tread contacts the road. This helps reduce resonance and the prominence of monotone drone, enhancing acoustic comfort during asphalt driving.
