Despite the aggressive external appearance, unequivocally hinting at the presence of sports roots, the Shinko 009 Raven motorcycle tire has a DOT certificate, which allows it to be operated not only on racing tracks but also on regular roads. Among other features of this model, designed primarily for sports bikes, it is worth noting a very long service life. According to the manufacturer's statements, it is the largest among all tires in this line.
Aggressive V-shaped design of the tread pattern
The first thing that catches the eye when looking at this tire is the tread pattern, which has an aggressive design. It is formed by numerous transverse drainage grooves that converge in its central part. The structure of the tread on the tire for the front and rear wheels differs slightly.
The central part of the tread of the front tire Shinko 009 Raven contains a longitudinal drainage groove that divides it into two equal parts. This design improves directional stability and reduces the reaction time of the tire to the driver's actions, making the process of controlling the motorcycle much simpler. In turn, the central part of the tread does not have a longitudinal groove, which ensures maximum contact patch size, improving traction and adhesion properties in the longitudinal direction.
Long service life
As mentioned earlier, this model is distinguished by a very long service life. It is due to the high resistance of the tread to abrasive and uneven wear.
Resistance to abrasive wear is ensured by a rubber compound with a high content of silicon-containing components. As for uneven wear, the main contribution to the fight against this negative phenomenon is made by the breaker layer, which is made of aramid. It has very high stiffness and strength, which allows the external pressure to be distributed very evenly across the contact patch, preventing the development of uneven wear.
Main features of the Shinko 009 Raven tire
- the longest service life of the tread among tires of this brand for sports bikes, due to its high resistance to abrasive and uneven wear;
- aggressive V-shaped design of the tread pattern provides excellent grip in any conditions;
- excellent resistance to aquaplaning, thanks to numerous drainage grooves starting in the central part and ending in the shoulder areas.
