All-season truck tire Matador DR1 Hector M+S fully justifies its name in honor of one of the heroes of ancient Greek mythology, famous for its strength and courage. As for this model, it is designed for installation on trucks used for regional transportation. It is offered in 12 sizes for wheels with a rim diameter from 17.5 to 22.5 inches.
This tire perfectly withstands the high load created by the large weight of the cargo being transported. These capabilities have appeared due to the original S-shaped symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, containing a minimum of functional zones, which made them as large as possible. The tread of the Matador DR1 Hector M+S tire consists of a central zone and two shoulder zones. The central part of the tread is a very wide longitudinal rib, representing a series of double rectangular blocks arranged at a significant angle to the direction of movement. The massive size of these blocks made them very rigid, which had a beneficial effect on the tread's resistance to uneven wear. Additionally, the presence of many differently directed edges in this part of the tread provides excellent traction, especially on slippery winter surfaces.
In turn, the shoulder zones of the tread also consist of separate blocks, spaced at a significant distance from each other. Their shape is less complex, but this is due to the slightly different functions performed by this part of the tread. When driving on snow, sand, and mud, these blocks perform the role of dirt grips, and also provide high braking efficiency.
