The Bridgestone RDV1 commercial tire is in its category, perhaps the only tire in its class that has real efficiency on winter roads. The model installed on the driving axle is adapted to regional and highway transportation. It is distinguished by increased performance on icy and snowy surfaces, having excellent traction and stability on them.
The tread pattern features a large number of blocks with a directional arrangement. The edges formed by them are directed at an angle, which not only increases the traction force on slippery surfaces but also provides stability to longitudinal traction. Additionally, the blocks are arranged in a checkerboard pattern, which, along with their small size, allowed them to be placed on the tread in a larger quantity. As a result, the contact patch was increased, and the load from the weight of the vehicle and the cargo it carries is distributed evenly.
Each block has a narrow slit. It forms an additional sharp edge, increasing the traction force on wet and snowy surfaces. In the shoulder areas, the blocks are increased in size, which adds stiffness and resistance to deformation. This significantly reduces wear, improves resistance to lateral skidding.
Key Features:
- installed on the driving axle;
- tread pattern with numerous small blocks provides excellent traction on winter surfaces;
- checkerboard arrangement of elements increases the contact patch, optimizes load distribution on it;
- enlarged shoulder blocks, connected by rigid "bridges", increase lateral stability, prevent uneven wear;
- straight transverse lamellas in each block additionally enhance longitudinal traction on slippery surfaces.
