The Soueast DX8 debuted in the Chinese brand's production lineup in 2018. The mid-size crossover is one of the variations of the Jetour X70 model, a brand that also belongs to Chery.

Compared to the "original", it differs, first of all, in simplification in terms of both trim materials and equipment. Already in the standard equipment, there were a 12.3-inch instrument panel display and a 10-inch multimedia system, as well as panoramic glazing of the roof, artificial leather upholstery of seats, electric drive of the front seats, and a start button.

In technical terms, the car is fully identical to the "original" with the Chery logo. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter inline-four gasoline engine, developing up to 149 horsepower. The key difference was the transmissions — 5-speed manual and 8-speed automatic. The drive is exclusively on the front axle.

Modified Version

In 2022, the Chinese brand presented a modified version of the crossover. Compared to its predecessor, it differed in a more aggressive exterior design and minor changes in the interior. Perhaps the most important change was the transition to more powerful platforms for the instrument panel and multimedia system touchscreens, now based on Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen3. This allowed for expanded functionality and increased display resolution. In technical terms, the changes were also minor. The previous 1.5-liter engine was combined with 6-speed manual and robotic transmissions. Depending on the equipment version, the standard wheels for this crossover were with a landing diameter from 17 to 20 inches.
