The Soueast DX7 was in the model lineup of this brand from 2015 to 2023. The mid-size crossover was produced at a joint venture established in 1995 by Japanese Mitsubishi Motors, Chinese Fujian Motors, and Taiwanese China Motor Corporation. It is one of the first models created independently, but using technical components from Mitsubishi.

First Generation

The crossover, presented at the very end of 2014, was created on the platform of the Mitsubishi Lancer passenger car, in a modified version, differing in increased wheelbase. Additionally, the development of the body design was handled by Italians from the Pininfarina atelier. The engine range consisted of two Mitsubishi gasoline "fours". The base versions were equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 154 hp and 210 Nm of torque. As an alternative, a 2-liter turbocharged engine was offered, producing 190 hp and 250 Nm. Both power units were combined with both a 6-speed "mechanics" and an "automatic" with the same number of ranges.

Second Generation

In 2018, the second-generation crossover was released, which was still close in size to the Mitsubishi Outlander. The similarity was also added by the design of the front part with a characteristic X-shaped arrangement of edges on the bumper and radiator grille. The rear lights and bumper changed less, retaining the stylistic features of the predecessor.

The salon underwent more than significant changes. It was distinguished by smooth curves and the massiveness of the front console, emphasized by "atmospheric" lighting. A 10-inch display of the multimedia system appeared above the central part, which now had voice control and the ability to transfer part of the functionality of various car systems to a smartphone, through which you can start the engine, change the parameters of the 2-zone climate control, turn on the heated seats. The predecessor could also boast of extensive equipment for its class, but the second-generation crossover turned out to be even better in this regard - cameras with a 360-degree view, cruise control with an automatic braking system, adaptive headlights, a servo-driven rear door with a sensor activation under the bumper.

The key technical innovation was the appearance under the hood of the Mitsubishi engine with the 4K20T index, for which this was also a debut on a serial car. The inline benzine "four" with a volume of 1.8 liters produced 197 hp and 285 Nm, significantly surpassing the old 1.5-liter engine in these parameters. It was combined not with "mechanics" or "automatic", but with a 6-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches.
