Additionally, the GTS was significantly lightened and had a body kit that improved aerodynamics from the factory. The most dynamic version was the Turbo S, which was equipped with a 4.5-liter V8 with twin turbocharging and 521 horsepower. It accelerated to the first "hundred" in just 5 seconds. Before the end of the production of the first generation model, the brand presented its diesel version with a 3-liter V6 from VW Tuareg with 240 horsepower.

Second Generation

In the spring of 2010, the next generation car was released. It was slightly larger than its predecessor, significantly different from it in silhouette due to the greater slope of the windshield and the sloping line of the roof, with a number of styling features inherent to the Carrera GT model. The interior featured a salon from Panamera. Technically, the car changed more significantly. It became 250 kg lighter, which was due to the wider use of aluminum and magnesium. Despite the smaller ground clearance, the car's off-road capabilities were preserved almost completely. The engine lineup included a "hybrid" power unit in two versions using the same 3-liter V6 gasoline engine of the EA837 series. In 2012, modifications with a 4.1-liter 8-cylinder diesel engine from Volkswagen appeared. At the same time, the 4.8-liter "atmospheric" V8 engine of the S version was replaced with a 3.6-liter V6 with turbocharging.

Third Generation

The car of the 3rd iteration was presented in August 2017. It used the MLB platform, which is the basis for the entire line of mid-size and full-size crossovers/SUVs of the brands included in the Volkswagen Group, including the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus. Stylistically, the car became more consistent with the exterior of the iconic 911, especially in the design of the front part. The wheelbase remained unchanged, but the car became slightly longer than its predecessor and lower, as well as 65 kg lighter due to the even wider use of aluminum. The doors, roof, hood, and rear door are made of "winged metal". Additional weight reduction by 10 kg was achieved through the use of a lithium-ion polymer starter battery. It also allowed balancing the weight distribution between the axes, providing a ratio of 55/45. The engine lineup has changed significantly. Diesel engines were removed from it, and all gasoline engines are equipped with turbocharging. The transmission also lost any alternatives - the 8-speed "automatic" Tiptronic S.

In 2019, the Coupe version was added to the lineup, which significantly differs from the standard model with a reduced windshield, a narrowed front strut, a roof lowered by 20 mm, and widened fenders by 18 mm. The car comes with a panoramic roof as standard, and a carbon one is optional. In 2020, after a 2-year break, the brand presented the GTS version. It uses a 4-liter V8 with twin turbocharging from Panamera GTS with 460 horsepower. The forced version of this engine, boosted to 640 horsepower, is installed in the Turbo GT version, which was released in June 2021.
