Tires on Perodua Kancil (Перодуа)
Introduced in 1994, the compact city hatchback Perodua Kancil later became one of the most massive models in the history of the Malaysian automotive industry. The car was developed in close cooperation with the Japanese company Daihatsu and was created based on the "subcompact" of the early 1990s. The main task of the model was to create the most affordable transport for the densely populated cities of Southeast Asia. The name Kancil comes from a local animal - the mouse deer, one of the smallest known science horned mammals, up to 45 cm tall and weighing up to 2 kg, which symbolically reflects the character of the car: compactness, maneuverability, and economy. In conditions of intensive traffic in metropolises and limited parking space, such qualities were extremely in demand.
Design and layout
The model is a classic city car of class A with a front-mounted engine and front-wheel drive. The length is just over 3.3 meters, which allows the car to easily maneuver on narrow streets and park in limited space. The bearing body, despite its small dimensions, has an impressive volume of internal space and practicality of its use. The high roof and vertical landing allowed four passengers to be accommodated without noticeable restrictions on comfort for city trips. The chassis is a combination of simple and reliable solutions - McPherson struts are used at the front, and a semi-dependent torsion beam is installed at the back. This configuration provides a good balance between comfort, stability, and minimal maintenance costs.
The engine range consists of 3-cylinder engines with a volume of 660 and 850 "cubes", developing 31 and 42 horsepower, respectively. Despite the modest power figures, the small weight - less than 700 kg - allowed it to confidently move in city traffic. The power unit, depending on the equipment version, could be combined not only with a 5-speed "mechanics" but also with a 3-range "automatic". This was one of the most important advantages of the model, along with fuel efficiency - less than 5 liters per 100 km of travel.
Differences in the interior
The salon represented a combination of functionality and practicality. The dashboard is simple and has good readability. All controls are logically located and are intuitive. In the base versions, the car was equipped with a minimal set of equipment, however, later versions received an expanded list of options - air conditioning, electric windows, central locking, improved audio system, additional decorative elements of the salon.
Further development of the model
Practically throughout the production cycle, this model was modernized. First of all, due to the external appearance, the materials of the salon trim, and the equipment. Later versions received modernized engines that met the tightened environmental standards and consumed less fuel.
Against the background of numerous "classmates", the car stood out for its combination of compact dimensions, low purchase price, and cost, simplicity of maintenance. Thanks to the small mass and economical engines, operating expenses were minimal. For residents of densely populated cities, this was an important factor in choosing a car. The advantage was also the high maintainability: the machine's design is maximally simple, and most units do not require complex maintenance.
This car uses compact wheel discs with a landing diameter of 12 and 13 inches and tires with a size of 145/70 R12, 155/70 R12, and 155/65 R13. You can choose such options, as well as their analogs, in the "Mosavtoshina" online store, where a wide range of wheel products is presented.
