Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a line of full-size luxury sedans and limousines created on the basis of standard representative models of the German brand. The cars have been produced since 2015.

Initial Version

In 2015, the German manufacturer returned the Maybach name to its lineup of representative sedans, which had been absent since 2013. However, this time it was used as a sub-brand, created to compete with cars like the Bentley Mulsanne and Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII. The sedan presented within this concept differed from the standard model in its larger dimensions, increasing in both width and length. Initially, two modifications were offered - S500 and S600. In the first case, a petrol V8 with two turbines, a volume of 4.6 liters, and a power of 455 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque were used as the power unit. In turn, the S600 received a V12 with a volume of 6 liters, also with two turbochargers, but developing 530 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque. In 2017, this modification received an engine from the S 65 AMG and a new index - S 650. Another feature of the car was an exceptionally quiet level of noise and vibration, even by the standards of this class.

Model Z223

In the fall of 2020, the manufacturer presented a sedan of the next iteration. The standard S-Class sedan was again taken as the basis, but already of the seventh generation, built on the modular MRA platform of the second generation, which differs in higher variability in the use of components. This made it possible to make the sedan even longer - by 180 mm compared to its predecessor. Some of the design solutions used in it were transferred without any significant changes. The appearance of front airbags for second-row passengers was perhaps the only significant difference. The range of engines has hardly changed. The exception was the appearance of a hybrid power plant, consisting of an in-line turbocharged "six", a volume of 3 liters, and a traction electric motor, with a total power of 510 horsepower. And this version with the S 580 index is the only one in the lineup where the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system is not available.
